Indifference – A Poem
It isn't all about me.
I get it… The ocean is too big to care Her wide mouth swallows shore and time Waves caress and pummel alike I get it… The forest, ancient and deaf To the screams of fawn and men Wearing rot like royal raiment I get it… The beasts, wild and ravenous Hunting the tender and the lame Death holding no remorse I get it… Humanity, seizing the scales Measuring good against ill Judging what’s neither All the while, we Expect God to intercede Smoothing waves Opening glades Taming beast Caring for us — I don’t get it. ©2026 Kim Williams, M.Div.

I am deeply impressed by your work Kim
It is a striking realization that we accept the indifference of the earth yet still demand a personal gentleness from the one who set it all in motion ✨
